Design Wall Monday - 1/17/11

So I am stuck on my scrappy yellow project. Which cornerstones to use?
Jewel tones
Obviously these are a little large. I didn't like these as much as I thought I would cuz I loved them in the red quilt.

Black
I was surprised how much I liked the black but is it too much?
Yellow

Subtle but more in keeping with the monochromatic look.

Now I'm thinking maybe I should have gone with just sashings and no cornerstones. That is no longer an option because I've cut up the fabric.

So I am going to make some more burp cloths for my granddaughter, Paige, while I debate.

  1. I personally like the black cornerstones-the yellow fades into the blocks too much. I love the black and white fabric for sashing-never would be that brave myself but love, love, love it.

  3. Great quilt. Definitely the black cornerstones. They just make the whole quilt pop. I love that sashing fabric.

  4. Tha black is the winner to me too. I like the multi-colored ones but this is more a Monochromatic with the yellow with Black accents.

  5. The black does give it a dramatic flair. The jewel tones caught my eye too.

  6. I like the black best - I think it brings out the brightness of your yellows, rather than washing them out, like the yellow cornerstones do....
