Sewing Room cleanup - Befores

Before I can start to do any sewing I need to clear a space to set up my sewing machine. All of my Christmas projects were worked on either on retreat or with the Friday Quilters. My sewing room has once again become a major catchall for all the remains of many, many projects. Do I dare show before pics? Sure, I love to see step by step signs of progress and boy, does this room need progress.

Before:

This is a view of the room from the door. Under that huge mound is the ironing counter.

Wouldn't my sewing table look better with the Bernina on it instead of all that mess?

Cutting station is actually not that bad.

After - Stage 1 - Sewing table is usable again. I love my Bernina 1090.

Hoping to make more progress soon.

Pics of UFOs 7-12

I went down into the Dungeon my sewing studio to take pictures of the remaining UFOs for Judy L's 2011 challenge and I found two projects that I was supposed to have finished by Christmas. Yikes, talk about brain dead. Thanks to the blizzard that came thru on the 26th, the NJ celebration of Christmas was postponed and I now have an extra two weeks to complete these projects:

The String Quilt top Amy made over the summer. It needs quilting and binding.

The Freeze Frame quilt made from Judy L's Quilt for an Hour in Nov 2009 (I think). It just needs binding.

On to the UFO list
I am now desperately hoping that Judy picks a number for January that has a UFO that is close to completion cuz I won't get to work on it for at least another week or so. :0

 7. Red Four Patch
Top completed. Needs quilting

8. Roman Stripes
Top completed. Needs quilting

9. Homespun Bear Paws
Some blocks completed. Haven't decided how large to make the quilt
so not sure if I need to make more blocks.

10. Denim rag quilt
Blocks made.

11. Blue and White Checkerboard
Half of top made. Need to cut more squares.

12. I spy
Some hexagons cut.

I can see that I am going to have to work on taking better pictures. None of these do justice to the colors in the fabrics.

2011 - the year of UFOs

Judy L is hosting a UFO challenge for 2011 so I am biting the bullet and committing to getting some of these many UFOs finished. Among other things, this blog will be my "diary" of that progress. I hope I'll also learn more about the blogging process. I do not currently have pics of all of my UFOs. For now, I will list the 12 UFOs (although there is no way I will work on a UFO in December) I hope to complete this year, along with any pictures I currently have:

          1. Christmas Pineapple Blossom

          2. Crayon Box Quilt

          3. Sisters Choice

          4. Twirling

          5. Batik Log Cabin

          6. Crumb Quilt

          7. Red Four Patch
          8. Roman Stripes
          9. Homespun Bear Paws
        10. Denim Quilt
        11. Blue and White Checkerboard
