Goals and Rules (with my adjustments)
GOALS:
- To use the Stash I already have!
- Finish UFOs without distraction by shifting to fun new projects.
- Stop the insanity of constantly buying fabric - just because it's on sale or I have a coupon doesn't mean I need to buy it.
- Destash the fabrics and UFOs that I realize I am never going to use/complete.
FABRIC FAST RULES:
1) No fabric purchases for 6 months beginning January 1, 2014.
2) At 6 months reevaluate status and decide whether to keep going for full year. Evaluation July 1, 2014.
3) Create a UFO list and complete 10 by July 1st!
4) No books or magazines - I have way too many of them also.
5) Exceptions
- Notions acceptable.
- Fabrics for projects for granddaughter, Paige. I don't have a stash of those fabrics.
- Fabrics for sashing and borders (if necessary) to complete current UFOs.
- This year's Rainbow Scrap Challenge. These will not be UFOs but I will use only scrap fabric. I posted about it HERE.
Fabriholics has challenged us to list our UFOs. I will picture the projects that are at the top of the list for completing. The rest I will list.

Amazing!! Beautiful pics and a thoroughly enjoyable trip down memory lane. I know you can do it! Hugs, Audrey
I too am taking the FA challenge -- at 16 days I already broke it -- and wanted ot say you have some very lovely projects planned for the upcoming year. Best of luck
Great job! Way to go on listing everything! What are you going to work on first?
Love the list. I am happy to report that I am now in my 70s- UFOs that is. Love the ND quilt- did you design that pattern? So many beautiful projects to finish. I will be watching the completions add up.
Yes, as Audrey said: wonderful trip down memory lane! I love how your Christmas Pineapple turned out - really great. And seeing some of those block sets made me wish I'd participated in those swaps too. :-) So many fine looking quilts will be finished this year - really something(s) to look forward to.
Oh my! I do wish you luck. I'm in FA too, and mostly have ideas and fabric. This challenge has moved me to start my projects rather than just collecting more fabric and ideas. Good Luck!
Well done on no purchases. youhave done better than me. Your UFO list scares me! have fun with them. hugs
I am impressed with both your lists and the pictures of the projects! Great post and congratulations on not purchasing fabric!
Holy cow!!! And I thought I had a lot of quilts waiting to be quilted - just 40 - and probably another 10 quilts in various stages of piecing. On the fast, I bought one fat quarter as my entrance fee into a Brown Bag group - have to support the quilt shop that hosts us - left it at the shop and have not purchased any fabric. The quilt I am making in the Brown Bag group is totally from stash!
Wow. Good luck on all your projects. Looks like some of them are almost finished. That is a good thing.
Wow. I thought my list of 8 quilts was long. (Grin.) Good luck! I love the binding stage so I never have a back-up at the quilting stage. It's the trimming the sides (if they poke out due to the pattern and you need to trim them up -- like Jaybird Quilts patterns) where I get stuck. Good luck!
What beautiful quilts! Really long list but really worth the work! I am glad you are holding fast! Me too!
What a lovely list of projects. Well done with keeping to the fast - me too this month. Good luck with making some progress on your wonderful list.
